Yeah Racing RC has brought you the ultimate smoke stopper! This little guy will save you money and a headache. Quickly know whether your quad has a short, and protect it from certain peril. By plugging this in between your battery and your quad, you can limit the current getting to your quad. If the LED is on, there is no short. If the LED is faded, blinking, or off, then there is a short and you should check your quad. This is a great tool, but we recommend you pair it with the use of a multimeter to check for shorts to be sure you are not going to toast your precious goods!

So far I've had no issues with this smoke stopper apart from the led getting dim before the hold current of 0.5A but not failing before its trip current. I pair with a current limited bench power supply and the bench power supply frequently cut power before this or many other smoke stoppers showed failure. Always do continuity checks first but this and other devices are a good protection against missed solder bridges. I think fused options might be slightly better but this is a good product for a good price if combined with some common sense
