The Lumenier QAV-RXL 2 quadcopter frame, available in 8" and 10" versions. It may not be lean, but it sure is mean!
The Lumenier QAV-RXL is back! Naturally, after the QAV-R 2 launched in 2018, we started planning the next iteration of the XL, but this time we really wanted to go big! The QAV-RXL 2 is available in both 8" and 10" versions. It might not be lean, but it sure is mean!
The QAV-RXL 2 features the same silky clear coat carbon fiber as on the QAV-R 2. And while the frame closely resembles the QAV-R 2, there are many notable differences other than just the extended arm length. The QAV-RXL 2 features an extended main body to give room more for accessories and electronics. The body also features extra mounting options with both 30.5x30.5mm and 20x20mm mounting holes in the middle and rear of the frame.
A larger frame means you need tougher and thicker carbon. The QAV-RXL provides this with 6mm thick carbon fiber arms paired with a 2.5mm thick bottom plate and 2mm X-Brace below the arms to give a total of 10.5mm of carbon at the central stress points.
Both versions of the QAV-RXL 2 are made to top-mount the LiPo battery. The included silicone non-slip battery pad helps grip the LiPo and prevents any movement during the flight and or during a crash. The QAV-RXL 2 also comes with socket cap washers to protect the bottom screw heads from damage that could otherwise make the screw heads broken or unusable.
The QAV-RXL 2 is spaced 28mm between the top and bottom plates and designed for a full-size FPV camera.
