Luke Bannister of Somerset, England led his team to win a $250,000 purse, part of $1 million in prizes handed out to FPV (First Person View) quadcopter drone pilots last week. Drone Racing is one of the fastest-growing and inclusive sports today as it is open to hobbyists of all ages, nationality, gender and physical ability.
"The Dubai World Drone Prix showed the world where the drone racing sport is headed with top notch pilot's, gear and racing courses. I’m thrilled that Lumenier gear was one of the dominant equipment brands deployed at this event by pilots from around the globe. Our Lumenier RX2206 series brushless motors were in most quadcopters I saw at the race," said Lumenier owner Tim Nilson. Florida-based Lumenier manufactures high-performance Drone Racing and FreeStyle equipment: airframes, motors, batteries, propellers, electronics, and accessories.
What’s next for Lumenier? Committed to increasing performance available to drone hobbyists, Lumenier will soon release a high quality line of propellers that will equal or exceed all current small multi-rotor props on the market today in terms of thrust and efficiency. Custom designed airfoils and the popular Polycarbonate and glass fiber mix material has been deployed to produce precise and efficient props across 2-blade, 3-blade, and 4-blade prop designs. The first series of props to be released in the next 3 weeks, will be in the 5" class followed by 3", 4", and 6" props.
